Achari Daal (Pickle-yellow Lentil Soup)



Ingredients.........................

  1. Red lentil- 100gm soaked in water1/2hour
  2. Chopped onion- 1/2 cup
  3. Chopped green - 2
  4. Grated ginger- 1tsp
  5. Grated garlic- 1/2tsp
  6. Pickle- 2tsp
  7. Chopped coriander- 2tsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Oil- 4tsp
  10. Mustard seeds- 1tsp
  11. Turmeric pwd- 1/2tsp
  12. Water- 300ml
Method...........................
  • First take a pressure cooker, add washed red lentil add 300ml water, turmeric pwd+salt and cook for 5 min or 3 whistle , keep aside,
  • Now heat the wok, pour oil after 1min add mustard seeds, onion, green chili, grated ginger, garlic fry till golden brown, now add pickle, mix them.


  • Now add cooked Daal / Lentil , chopped coriander and stir, now cook for 4 min.

  • Achari Daal (Pickle Yellow Lentil Soup) is ready to serve.
