Chicken Dhansak


Ingredients.................
  1. Chicken chunks- 200gm
  2. Cooked yellow lentil-1/2cup
  3. Aubergine- 1/4 cup
  4. Spinach- 1/4 cup
  5. Raw potato peeled- 1/4 cup
  6. Green cardomom-2
  7. Black cardomom- 2
  8. Cumin seeds- 3 tbsp
  9. Black pepper- 5-9
  10. Cloves- 4-5
  11. Mace- 1/2 inch
  12. Bay leaf- 2
  13. Red whole chili-2
  14. Coriander seeds- 2 tbsp
  15. Cine mom- 2 inch
  16. Star anise-1
  17. Red chili powder- 1tbsp
  18. Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
  19. Grated ginger- 1tbsp
  20. Grated garlic- 1tbsp
  21. Salt to taste
  22. Oil- 1/4 cup

Method....................
  • Heat the wok, and roast all whole spices and make a powder using crusher. add 5 tbsp oil and Fry chicken chunks  till white.



  • Heat the wok, pour oil, add sliced onion red whole chili, ginger garlic paste and fry till brown then add whole spiced powder and add aubergine, potato, spinach, salt  and fry about 1 min.
  • Now add cooked lentil and chicken fried chunks, fry 1/2 min , now add 2cup water and cook 3 min.

  • Chicken dhansak is ready to serve .
