Bengal gram lentil with Spinach curry (chana daal with palak)


Ingredients....................
  1. Bengal gram lentil washed and soaked in water- 1cup
  2. Spinach leaves- 250gm
  3. chopped garlic-1tbsp
  4. Oil- 4tbsp
  5. Chopped tomato- 1/2 cup
  6. Turmeric powder- 1tbsp
  7. Coriander powder- 1tbsp
  8. Garam masala-1/2 tbsp
  9. Mango powder- 1/2 tbsp
  10. Red chili powder- 1tbsp
  11. Fenugreek powder- 2pinch
  12. Salt to taste
Onion Paste............
  1. Onion-1/2
  2. Ginger-1inch
  3. Red whole chili
  4. Black pepper-4-5
  5. Black cardamom-2
  6. cumin seeds-1tbsp
Method..................
  • First  take a pan add soaked and washed bengal gram lentil(chana daal) and spinach add 1 1/2 cup water and cook about 5 min or 4 whistle.
  • Make a onion paste using mixer, heat the wok and add oil after 2 min add chopped garlic and then add onion paste and fry about 2 min.
  • Add chopped tomato and fry about 3 min then add all powder spices like gram masala powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, salt turmeric powder, fenugreek powder and mango powder  and fry again 2 min.
  • Now add cooked spinach and bengal gram lentil(chana daal) mix it well and cover the lid and cook again 5 min.
  • Bengal gram lentil with Spinach Curry is ready to serve.
